Paediatric First Aid (Blended Learning) Full PFA

Course Introduction

The Paediatric First Aid at Work Level 3 Blended Learning qualification (Full FPA) consists of the Emergency First Aid at Work syllabus, with the addition of training covering children’s illnesses and injuries.

Our innovative blended learning course combines the best of both worlds, offering you a comprehensive and flexible learning experience.

We understand that time is precious, and that learning styles vary, which is why we’ve designed this course to be 50% engaging classroom-based practical training and 50% accessible online e-learning modules.

Ahead of the practical session, our six-hour online e-learning delves into common childhood illnesses and emergencies, such as meningitis, anaphylaxis, and febrile convulsions. Each chapter within the e-learning part of the course has been designed for optimal learning and retention, featuring a short, engaging video with animations akin to those seen in early years settings, making complex medical information easy to understand.

Our online modules offer the ultimate in flexibility. Each module takes approximately 10 minutes each and you can save your progress as you go, fitting your learning around your busy schedule.

All of the e-learning modules must be completed before you attend one of our designated practical face-to-face sessions.

The face-to-face sessions are run regularly, with a range of dates available to suit your needs.

We believe this blended approach will equip you with the knowledge and skills to confidently handle any first aid situation involving infants and children.

The qualification is designed to meet the new requirements for people involved in the care of babies and children in Early Years settings or Childminding.

The course also incorporates the additional learning modules required to meet the EYFS guidelines for forest, beach, and farm schools (outdoor schools), as well as other environments, with an additional four hours of supported online learning.

This certification is valid for three years and is a recommendation by OFSTED to comply with the Early Years Foundation Stage Document.

Certification is accredited by the First Aid Industry Body.

Required qualification levels should comply with OFSTED regulations and the Early years foundation stage (EYFS) statutory framework. Ble
