Skills for Care – 5 Day Induction

Training staff or potential employees can prove costly and logistically difficult to manage as most training courses are individual. Wilkinson Partnership provides a unique ‘one stop shop‘ solution to this problem, with a five day induction course which complies with the current Skills for Care legislation. Upon successful completion of the course, the candidate emerges with fully accredited training and certification in each of the eight standards, laying the foundation for NVQ level 2 and the health and social care diploma.
This is an intensive five day course which encompasses and exceeds the minimum standards required by the new Skills for Care standards. The course starts with two days introduction to care and the associated legislation. Day three is level 2 Food Safety which is an elementary level course with national accreditation. Day four is the Emergency First Aid at Work qualification designed to give the participant a fundamental understanding of first aid management. Day five consists of basic Health and Safety as well as the understanding of ‘Manual Handling’ techniques required within the workplace. The entire course fully complies with the Skills for Care standards and the individual days are accredited through national awarding bodies.
Successful participants will achieve nine accredited certificates as well as a care industry personal continuing professional development passport documenting their qualifications and future career aims and objectives. This personal transferrable document allows the person to work unsupervised within the care environment, subject to in-house policies and procedures, training and CRB checks.
